Through a steady release of original productions and remixes, Plant Music's Eli Escobar has emerged as one of house music's biggest talents. Last year, he enlisted Amanda Blank for the gorgeous "Love Thing" EP which featured the massive "Love Thing" Part 2 re-work by our dear friend DJ Mehdi. Since then, Eli has been enlisted to give the Escobar treatment to records by Holy Ghost! (whom he is touring with this Fall), Jessica 6 and Modular's Bag Raiders. Recently, Plant released the ridiculously catchy "Desire" which featured Jessica 6's Nomi Ruiz on vocals.
Finally, Plant is ready to give you the remixes to this new classic, and they are heavy. On board we have two pillars of house music - DJ Sneak and Ian Pooley - and two names that are steadily ringing bells - Cosmic Kids and Cocolores from Munich. Sneak gives us a bumpin, hypnotic dub aptly named gangster house by the man himself, while Pooley fashions a killer mix that is both jackin and deep, and gives us a dub as well. Cocolores turn on the step sequencer and summon their Inner City, and finally LA's Cosmic Kids turn in a chunky synth number replete with analog tom fills and arpeggiators.
