Project Vibez

Project Vibez

Project Vibez is a melting pot. Born in Guatemala to Nigerian and Honduran parents, his family moved to the US when he was aged 5, settling in Brooklyn, New York, and later North Carolina. At age 11, while all his friends were discovering FPS video games, Vibez was drawn to Rock Band and playing in his school's band and orchestra. There he would learn an eclectic array of instruments - trombone, violin, and electric bass - under the tutelage of Margaret Rehder, founder of the Winston-Salem Civic Orchestra. While living in Brooklyn, the young artist was exposed to some of the biggest influences and pioneers in hip-hop - Mos Def, Talib Kweli, Big Daddy Kane, and Notorious B.I.G. among them. He dove head first into emceeing, beat boxing, aerosol art, and music
