'2 Far Gone' EP by SI-FI is a four-track release presenting a subtle blend of break beat, 2-step and garage rhythms all deftly interwoven with some seriously clever and sumptuous hooks and melodies.
Up first is Your 'Restless Eyes', a beautiful breakbeat tune featuring haunting vocals, gorgeous melody lines and bass sections harking back to the early days of jungle and drum & bass. Next is '2 Far Gone', an exquisite 2-step vocal infused number subtly laced with shimmering synth riffs and elegant, emotional pads. In at the third spot is 'Stop At Nothing', a melancholic 2-step tune which expertly blends numerous dance music tropes - organs, Reese bass, vocal stabs - into one seamless and poignant whole. Wrapping things up is 'Talk', a more garage tinged, urban style jam laced with piano motifs, sensitive vocal refrains and a super warm and fuzzy bassline.
