Pihka Is My Name is a band fronted by an animation character called Pihka. Musical infuences: Röyksopp, Jónsi, Mew, Joe Hisaishi, BT, Jon Hopkins. Genre: ARCTIC HOUSE. It’s an escapist, cinematic cmbination of analogue drum machines, symphonic elements and northern lights. Pihka is a small robot, an imaginary friend who is not needed anymore. She finds herself forgotten in a snow covered forest. She sets off on an adventure on her own, sees the city and all the busy humans with their problems. The music is written by Helsinki-based producers Lasse Turunen and Henna Helasvuo. Graphic design is by Elli Maanpää and the super exciting debut video is directed and animated by Jussi Turunen.
