Stashed Music keep up the tech heat with their latest release: a glitchy, deep, rolling two-tracker from the UK's Jay Newman.
Coming out of the Midlands, Jay Newman has made something of a name for himself with his unpredictable productions and flawless DJ sets. Both a resident touring DJ for Minstry of Sound and a respected producer with releases on labels including Kittball and Audio Rehab, Jay's latest drops on DJ S.K.T's insanely consistent Stashed Music imprint, and is yet another highly assured release.
Lead track Uncle Tom is a glitchy tech house roller that easily separates itself from pack with it's sympathetic and creative use of vocal samples and intricate rhythm: a shining example of just how infectious this style of electronic music can be when its done right. Uno, Dos, Tres Is another triumphant techy cut: its chunky drums and scything percussion packing just the right dancefloor punch. A truly devastating EP.
