The original mix of TOURNAMENT goes back to the downbeat roots of Passenger 10. Playing on a low BPM count of 100BPM, this track still doesn't miss the electronic flavour of current Passenger 10 tracks. Again he tried to work with many acoustic elements, like acoustic guitars, various native flutes and live recorded drum patterns. The result is stunning, not to say ground breaking. In eight and a half minutes this song doesn't get boring at any time. And if you think the song is over, another beautiful surprising section fades in and puts a spell on every listener for sure.
SUUM CUIQUE (engl. "to each his own") contains a more danceable beat section, some rough speeches on top, as well as some blissful harmonies that build up during the whole song, till it finally ends up in an epic orchestra. Also this track ain't over after 6 minutes. It seems this became a trademark of PASSENGER 10 to add songs after songs. Sounds funny, but you'll hear what we mean.
On the remix duty we could hire HENRY KRINKLE from Wellington, Florida. He delivers another fantastic electronica remix for TOURNAMENT: More 4/4 beat elements, underneath a constantly building chord progression. On top some nice vocal glitches that add another turn to the chords and beats, as well as some noises which are going on and bring out a live and natural feeling to the mix.
Second remix on the package comes from techno guru STANLEY ROSS, who worked out his remix for the more club DJ scene. A groovy after hour remix, with some live drum fill-ins and sorted classic house pads, that pitch the key from time to time.
iTunes version exclusively contains Radio Edit of TOURNAMENT.
