For our third release on the nascent Real Balearic label we take a jet to somewhere quite unexpected... And somewhere that (on first impressions) is a very un-balearic location; Almaty in Kazakhstan. The location may not be Mediterranean but the music certainly is. The fantastically named "Wawawiwas" are made up of the music duo or Aidar and Oleg. Their musical identity was formed in the 1980s in a Youth Communist organization. The pair absorbed all sorts of music which leaked through the Iron Curtain and in the 2000s the pair began to DJ and developed their own brand of downtempo, cool, melodic and house and groove with a heaping of atmosphere.

The EP opens up with the painfully groovy "Sunny Days Ahead". Effortless, warm bass guitar underpins shimmering picked guitar and lazy keys. A slow burning treat. We then move on to the melancholy vibes of "Sea Of Despair". Minor moods, thoughtful blue grooves and electronics which just ooze a with a touch of sadness. We round things off with Italian newcomer Lago$ who presents his rework of Sunny Days ahead based upon a bongos, sliding bass and a catchy guitar line.
