Hype
The latest release from Sound Avenue finds label boss Madloch joining forces with Subnode for their debut collaboration. Fresh off a three week tour of Argentina, Belgian artist Madloch played sold out shows across the country where he road tested several upcoming projects. Releases for Asymmetric Recordings and Magician On Duty have continued his evolution as an artist, ultimately leading him back to Sound Avenue for an exciting new partnership. Also hailing from Belgium is Subnode, a true electronic music craftsman who has achieved both critical and commercial success over his twenty year career. His diverse discography is highlighted by a chart topping remix for Jaydee in addition to downtempo compositions, movie scores and most recently a return to his initial passion of underground house and techno, where he feels most at home. Now coming together for the first of many collaborations Madloch and Subnode present their 'Second Sight' EP.

Beginning with the title and showcase piece 'Second Sight' you get a sense this is the beginning of a fruitful partnership. It's deep, pulsating framework is perfectly contoured, adorned with percussive flurries, organic stabs and subtle shades and tones. A ghostly vocal motif highlights the main break, veering into cross cultural territory, before it's dramatic allure pulls you back into a meditative state for a spellbinding finale. Also included is a 'Reprise' version which will certainly be a useful tool for the more adventurous DJs out there.

Continuing the deep, hypnotic ethos of the EP is the equally brilliant 'Shadow People'. Mysterious and mystical from the outset, the piece flows through dubby motifs and gaseous atmospheres, before warm overlays entice the narrative with emotive moments. Flawlessly tailored for a late night dance floor it sits as a perfect complement to 'Second Sight', rounding out two stunning creations from Madloch and Subnode, who appear to be on the cusp of big things as their creative synergy grows.
