Zan Prevee is nothing if not prolific, started experimenting in music technology and on the production of electronic music, his own unique style began to be recognized on radio sets over the world. "Revealing Senses" sees his splintered, shattered sonic palette continue to evolve away from shiny and abstract orbital toward more humid climes. The results are less dense and easier to love than arguably any of his output thus far. John Ov3rblast version immediately paints a sombre picture with a roughshod riff, rainy day melancholia and stretched out, long suffering space void wail all tugging on each and every heartstring from start to finish. Orelse Parlour Wall Mix feels less sorry for itself. The characteristic watery drips remain, however, and there's something of a thousand yard stare feel to the piano that echoes between the metalized perc pings and staggering drums. John D remix is offering a multitude of tiny glassy tinkles rippling up its middle, but despite his deft design, the loops seams to be crying beneath and is stays with you longest; its wilted strums sound like the final acceptance of a certain undesirable fate. As the final track of this EP is from Jonny Vee and it's a slowed and soulful beatdown swagger that rattles and jangles like a herd of passing alpine cows. In so deftly pinning distant gauzy vox, odd modulated blobs and tinkling tambourines to the laziest of bottom ends, it ends up being the most irresistible concoction of all.
