Making his long overdue debut for Forensic, Randall delves into the label’s vaults and fishes out two of his favourite tracks from our back catalogue to deliver a storming remix package.
First up Randall gets stuck into S-Groove’s sublime deep house groover “feel your soul”, taking the track in a tripped out dub house direction with spaced out chords and vocals layered perfectly over shuffling organic sounding drums and percussion grooves, making this a must for deeper dance floors. Already a firm favourite in the sets of Hernan Cattaneo, Dave Seaman and John Digweed, who played it every night on his recent US tour.
Next is Randall’s interpretation of Stel & Rekelektric “People”, turning in two mixes in the shape of a vocal and a dub. Again Randall takes the deep, moody, dubbed out approach with devastatingly effective results. The haunting male vocals are well complimented by the slow building techy grooves and stabbing, swirling synth lines. For those of you who don’t like vocals there’s a dub version that is just as effective.
All in all, an outstanding debut package for Forensic from one of Americas finest producers.
