(NEW YORK) Award-winning Kwaito singer Professor Langa holds the
distinguished honor of staying true to the music and message reflecting
todays urban culture of post-apartheid South Africa. Without question, he
is lyrically skilled at imparting an important lesson: music is a universal
language.

The Durban native, best known as Professor, swept the 2011 MTN South
African Music Awards when he won Male Artist of the Year, Best Kwaito
Album (University of Kalawa Jazmee) and Record of the Year (Imoto).

Now, Vega Records is proud to present and release for the first time
original and instrumental versions of Imoto and Jezebel _ two rhythmically
addictive songs on Professors album under the respected Kalawa Jazmee
label, co-founded by Kwaito and house music DJ/Producer Oskido (Oscar
Mdlongwa).

When I was in South Africa touring last December, Oskido came to me and
said if he were to present it to the world through anyone, he'd like to do it
through Vega Records, Louie Vega explains. I heard the tracks out there
live and saw huge reaction.

Imoto and Jezebel are deeply rooted in the distinctive sound of Kwaito,
which evolved in the 1990s in townships and continues to reflect the
influences of South African music and politics, hip-hop and house. On
both popular dance tracks, Professor liberally applies a choice mix of hard-
driving beats and strong bass lines, percussive loops and precisely delivered
vocals over hypnotic instrumentals.

Early in his career, Professor made a name for himself when Oskido paired
him with another Durban Kwaito artist, TZozo. The 2005 collaboration
produced a pivotal hit and South African dance anthem, Woz e Durban, and
signaled the start of something big.

Jezebel, the first single released from Professors University of Kalawa
Jazmee album, features Oskido and builds on an infectious groove with a
catchy, memorable hook. The track quickly took off in clubs and on South
Africa radio. The albums second single, Imoto, gets deep and intense with
its powerful, dance inducing intro and powerful tribal-house sound.

I didn't have remixes done or do any myself as I wanted everyone to hear
the mixes that were huge in South Africa and present them to the world,
Vega says about both songs. Remixes will come in a few months following
this release.
