Following on from the Small Disasters EP here is the second release from TOM And His Computer on Trentemllers expertly curated In My Room label and sees the Dane diving even deeper into his obsession with retrofuturistic noisy edginess or his comitment to fresh ideas with a clear sense of melodies (Clash Magazine). The Small Disasters EP also made an impression with its music videos especially Organ that won more than a dozen video awards around the globe. Now the new EP takes the whole adventure even a step further and features two vocal songs featuring Julie Runa from Copenhagen based band Roxy Jules: Eighty Four is a killer krautrock / post punk tune with intermittent screaming synths while Playing in The Night is a more darkwavemeetssurf rock via a laboratory of electronics and noisy guitar layers thrilling stuff. The opener Uhhish is an atmospheric ambient piece at least in the beginning before soundscapes overlap into each other and a gritty new wave bass finally emerges building into a noisy reverbfilled ending. Hanoi Golden Rice Hotel brings another dark vibe into play mixing up horror film mood scapes with inventive melodic lines and precise drums and finally Colormind is the fifth and last track here and indulges TOMs love for noise and melody in the same space a fitting closing to an exceptional EP.
