Fourth Ep by Italian producer/dj Carlo Mameli aka BXP is titled “Personal Things” and is out on his own imprint Random Numbers.
Starting as a personal elaboration of early UK Techno and IDM (I.e. Warp, Rephlex, Planet-Mu, check his debut Ep “Last Acid” -2011), BXP's style becomes more dance-floor friendly (think of recent R&S) and hardware based on more recent “Refactoring” Ep (Sostanze Records – 2013), “Italo Acid” Ep (2013) and “Starting Theme” Ep (Intellighenzia Elettronica – 2014).
“Personal Things” Ep is the result of a more in-depth production search, involving a necessary act of breaking all rules - i.e. slipping Ambient suspensions in otherwise solid Techno structures or distilling early Nineties Acid House glows with extremely modern refractions. Working with special care on the harmonic and melodic aspects, BXP has boldly unified pure listening and dancefloor necessities in three tracks that are a turning point in his own career as a producer, which is rapidly growing to new heights. His style, shaped by the genuine original rave spirit, is now enhanced by a fresh sense of melody and new smashing solutions.
If you luckily caught him at “La Notte Di Asterix” in Milan, which has had him as resident DJ for quite a while sharing decks with names like Artifact, Paleman, South London Ordnance, DJ Rum, Peverelist and Boddika, or at roBOt Festival, where he played in editions 06 and 07, you know what we mean.
