Bi-coastal label endeavor Blunted Funk leap forth with a new release re-visiting some usual suspects and adding new twists. It's "On The 4," coming from the desert-baked Fresno studio of P-Rez, known for his sun-soaked bumping house tracks. Here P-Rez finds himself aligned with Austin's J.A.M.O.N. who grabs the microphone for another spot-on house music MC appearance. J.A.M.O.N., also a DJ and producer of note, has been making waves with his recent vocal contributions for artists like Kink, Demarkus Lewis, and Inland Knights. The result is "On The 4," a prime time house jacker with loads of funk and dancefloor secret sauce.

As expected from the devious minds at Blunted Funk, eclectic remixes have been commissioned taking huge steps away from the style of the original. Courtney Nielsen, known for early releases on Siesta and his engineering work for DJ Spun, is on hand to fashion "On The 4" into a dreamy, deep house interpretation that is sure to turn heads. Expanding on the sound of his previous mix for Blunted Funk, his beloved version of The Shift's "On The Side," it's a cut not to be ignored. Next up, label don Sneak-E Pete collides with studio chum Anthony Mansfield (Hector Works) for a positively chunky, down-n-dirty remix. Heavily dubbed vocals and island rhythms drive their main mix, with a stripped down Beats Dub as a gift-wrapped goodie for the DJ massive.
