Piston's label boss Rogerio Martins takes the helm for the label's 400th release with the aptly titled #400. Another huge milestone in the history of the Portuguese outfit who started out as a small operation with a big plan. Now in its 11th year, Piston continues to go from strength to strength with new signings coming on a regular basis. Rogerio not only has a keen ear for the latest sound from a newcomer or an established artist, but he also knows how to work a track and this one is no exception. His last outing saw a fantastic remix for Rick Wade's I Know Ur There garner a lot of support which is a testament to the creativity and talent this guy has. Always an exciting time when the boss gets into the studio.
#400 intros with a solid kick drum which packs a nice punch and is joined by shuffling percussions the get the rhythm up to speed right from the off. Mesmerizing deep house chords stab through the groove while a deep and lush bassline fills out the low end. Rising pads take over as cool vocals come through, adding a smooth touch to the vibe. You find yourself totally immersed in the groove as that bassline lulls you in and the warm tones captivate. The perfect fodder for the late night session that will not disappoint.
