Hot on the heels of our last promotion, Upbeat continues to increase the pace for 2011 with the hotly-anticipated 'Northbound' by Andy MacDougall under his Experiential alias with the help of fellow UK DJ and producer Alex Collings.

Andy's status on Upbeat is without dispute; his productions and remixes have seen him rack up some of our most high-profile support and his flexible production skills allow him to deliver a devastating range of progressive and uplifting trance, each of which is a guarenteed winner with critical acclaim.

The original mix is a real musical monolith. Its light pulsing melody and rhythmic sub basses sit perfectly with a deep driving kick and keen lead bass notes. The subtle melodic key changes and delicate soft trance plucks fade into soaring pads and land back into a resounding lead section which really lets the original breathe.

Heading up the remixes are the fearsome Dutch duo of Nils Martin Huzen & Roald Boesveld as Cylum & Velden. Their positively driving kick-bass arrangement keeps the original melodies and adds their own shining leads. Through a truly euphoric breakdown, their creativity drops back in with a fantastic staccato take on the original melody.

Next up Sonny M returns to Upbeat with an equally fast-paced version which combines with thick atmosphere and dramatic builds and crashes. This is classic big room uplifting trance with key changes, melody by the tonne and a full-on euphoric workout which takes no prisoners.

Rounding off the package comes Christian Geest as Anoikis. Following the huge success of his track Edge Of Everything last year on Upbeat, we were aching to drag him back to give us a second helping of his production creativity. His stamping bass and razor-sharp synth arrangement turn the build and crescendo from the original design into a whole new beast. The original melody is filtered in and out to match the emotion of the notes to perfection; a real compliment to the original.
