The Berlin based (and born) Egokind can play Bach flawless on acoustic guitar, has played in punk bands for years and has built up a big community of fans through his own doing. The former guitar player, singer and composer, who is currently studying sound design in Berlin, is a true studio nerd who relies much more on his song composing and production tracks than collecting numerous hardware in a comfort zone. Egokind has been recording seriously for for the last 1 12 years but has made the decisions to release music seriously more eclectic and complex. As he says himself, he has found his sound! After releasing his stunning debut "Diamond Days" on Traum and the follow up "Nothingness EP" Egokind had the idea for an album already sitting in the back of his head. To be able to convert all of his ideas he asked his long time friend and collaborator Ozean to work with him. For both of them "Transition" was their debut album, but both artists can draw on a lot of experience recording music from multiple genres. The Berlin based duo keeps a low profile, reflective of both their refusal to attach themselves to any linear narrative of what it means to be an artist in the digital age and a vast talent for creating their own language and sound design. With their music Egokind & Ozean show a new generation of listeners and clubbers how to embody music without having to know the rules. They also teamed up for this outstanding Mixmag episode which takes you on a journey without any genre borders...
