Torontos My Favorite Robot Records teams up with the DeadEcho boys for an outstanding EP which also features remixes from James Teej & Tim Paris..

DeadEcho is the production duo of Rob Bradley & Adam Firman, best known for their outstanding releases on their own Save You Records label. 2011 was a big year for the boys, with standout remixes on respected techno imprint FVF and the awesome Flumo label, their Coming at ya single receiving plaudits and broad support and DJ sets up and down the country. Perhaps the highlight of 2011 however was the signing to one of the hottest labels of the moment, Canadas My Favorite Robot Records. The Made For You EP is the fruit of that signing, a typically twisted and original sounding release that perfectly reflects DeadEchos eclectic approach as well as MFRRs expansive A&R policy.

The EP kicks off with title track Made for You, an electro tinged slice of dark edgy house that marries spacious drum programming with layers of synths and a Vogue inspired vocal hook to superb effect. The original version is accompanied by a remix from part man, part robot James Teej. Fresh from his recent single with dance legend Sasha, Teej takes things down a hypnotic and acidic route with an arpegiated synth line, intense bass stabs and some breaks inspired drum patterns rolled together to create a brilliant reworking.

Next up we have the wonderfully quirky Milkshake which sees the DeadEcho duo pairing their distinctive spoken word vocals with a stripped backing track that fuses elements of house and techno, quality stuff. Milkshake also gets the remix treatment from the outstanding Tim Paris who turns in an excellent, percussive number that is aimed squarely at the dancefloor.

The EP is completed by the left of center, mid tempo closer Speed Demon which sees pitched shifted vocals, quelching and retro synths and solid rhythms mixed up into an intense and funk fuelled cut that brilliantly expresses the opened minded approach of DeadEcho production.

DeadEcho have been on the radar of electronic music lovers for a while now and this new single with the highly respected My Favorite Robot Records is a further affirmation of their quality, enjoy.
