Hot on the heels of `Slo-Motion Cowboy', their acclaimed collaboration with Crazy P's Hot Toddy (Mixmag's 10/10 record of the month for September and ubiquitous in all groovy discos and festivals this summer), IPG bring you the first in a series of releases designed to reflect the changing seasons. `Light Through Clouds' is a reflective, piano based piece that features languid saxophone textures, Hammond organ and a throbbing analogue pulse. The next time you gaze out of the window of your car at what Kate Bush called the `Big Sky' think of this, `cos it's thinking of you. `Mistral' was written on an acoustic guitar in France under a perfectly hazy, azure September sky (the initial scruffy field recordings are in full effect). Back in Blighty, over time, the tune developed into a psychedelic shuffle in which a 303 rears its head halfway through and attempts to make sense of the abstract voices (I want to love her?). Ambient with knobs on. `I Found This' is a collaboration between us and a Sardinia based group called Wildsmith. Which is nice. The Italian jobs singer/songwriter is the man like Johnny Morris who has moved and, and indeed, shaken all of those who have sailed with him; I took him to Back to Basics and he moved to Leeds, that's the kinda guy he is. This track is a proper dubby-throbber and will spin your head. `Only A Quarter' bounces along on some crisp drum programming whilst electric piano and ghostly guitar provide a blissed out tonal wash. A kaleidoscopic aural-collage from Haight Ashbury in 1966 does the rest (try and follow the conversations, they make sense). Musique-concrete in pastel shades. As Autumnal glow chills into icy Solstice celebration, it's time to turn a new leaf. ...
