Blue Amazon are back with us with another Tecky influenced EP that follows suite from the Unite & the Sam Ritter remix release.Lee Softley Blue Amazon is a name that has been associated with quality over the years with the obvious classics including No Other Love and The Javelin Album, remixes for the likes of Sasha, Skunk Anansie, New Order and Madonna. More recent outputs have included such as "Teaser EP, Unite Remixes, collaborations with Alex Flatner and Robert Owens, a number of remixes for labels such as 238w, Hydrogen, Se-Lek-Music and more. The BA sound keeps evolving in many directions although in recent times there's been a distinct push towards the modern techno sound which is also quite evident in Blue Amazon DJ sets. This EP very much takes charge in this area and is combined with a special set of remixes that should impact a number of eardrums. The EP starts with the original title track Join In Love which is quite an experimental techno influenced piece. It's percussive, dark, haunting in sections with pitched vocals and an offbeat metallic riff running throughout. It's definitely a more minimal output from the BA Camp. Next we are very excited to say we have Oliver Lieb interpretation of Join In Love. Oliver Lieb needs little introduction, as he's already considered legendary on the club circuit with his consistent and infectious work that has been prevalent from the 90's through to date. This Frankfurt' producer DJ has delivered masterpieces under his pseudonyms Spicelab, Paragliders, L.S.G as well as Oliver Lieb. Oliver's interpretation takes few key elements from the original but reworked into his own rhythm structure. Its got a warmer electronic feel to the mix with touches of classic drum machines, acidic stabs and a real crossbreed techno House baseline.Continuing is the first of remixes of the title The Fix from Zak Gee. The original version of The Fix some will know was a featured track on Blue Amazon's Interpretations album mixed by Ian Ossia. Zak Gee has taken the original Donna Summer esque elements of the original and combined it with a classic NY driving swing groove. DaGeneral takes over with the second mix of the The Fix. Dageneral's take on the fix scraps a lot of the original disco elements and is worked more around a Tech House flavor. The mix has a great house influenced vibe to it and is a nice contrast to the other tracks on the EP. The final remix is from the emerging talent Kiz Pattison. Kiz Pattison is growing energy on the circuit, not only with his consistency but also in his development of his own unique sound. His mix takes onboard some of the original key elements of the track but worked into minimal fashion. There's a cool tempo shift breakdown in the middle and intensity in the builds. The original version of The Fix is included for anyone who might have missed it.
