1: Jacksun Fear Hacienda Mike
2: Jacksun Fear Acid Boots
3: Jacksun Fear USSR
Jacksun Fear are producer Elfed Alexander Morris and vocalist Gaika Tavares. Jacksun Fear take dark techno-house soundscapes adding subtle vocal melodies with killer lyrics. Opening this EP with Hacienda Mike, a classic house track with deep, warped, spoken word vocals. As the title suggests there is a heavy influence from Manchester's Acid House days. 80's beats alongside a tight modern roaming bassline create an infectious groove. Within this tight groove are the vocoded, deep spoken word vocals adding and developing interest. Driven by industrial percussion and a minimal melody this is a classic Manchester cut.
The second track Acid Boots is a driving Tech-House beat and bass line. Keeping the influence of the Acid House sound but highlighting it in a dance floor classic way. All elements are tuned towards grove with a classic acid arp taking centre stage. Layer on layer of percussion lead to an ever evolving groove heaven.
The final track USSR shows a slightly different side to the duo. Taking their acid, techno style into a deeper modern soundscape. Whispered vocals build into huge 80's pop/rock drum fills. An upfront, dark, melodic rap takes the lead the track is perfectly balanced with groove and tension.
Backed by Eastern Bloc (Manchester), Phonica (London), OYE Records (Berlin) and a thriving warehouse party community in Manchester Love Dose Records debut release Sold Out. Building on this the label released EP number 2 championed by Discobelle and reaching 25,000 plays on soundcloud.
After two successful vinyl releases, armed with a bag full of quality releases Love Dose Records is moving into the digital arena. First up on the digital arm of the label is an EP from duo (producer, vocalist) Jacksun Fear.
