Come one come all and get your 'Groovapaluzza' on, a three-track festival of deep, fast and funky house from Angel Heredia. On top of running his own Clover Records imprint, Heredia has laid down tracks for a wealth of labels from A through to Z - Avenue Recordings to Zulu Records to be precise - besides dominating dancefloors across his native Spain, and spinning shoulder to shoulder with the likes of Prok & Fitch, John Aquaviva and Pig & Dan.
Snatches of stand-up show a sense of humour on the title track, pinned down by dirty drums and a one-track mind of putting the 'ooh' into 'Groovapaluzza'. Otherwise it's no laughing matter - dogged tempo, a pounding heartbeat of a bassline, and scattered synth screws flying past your ears.
The hard work doesn't stop and the message comes through loud and clear on 'Moka', the instantly recognisable vocal coming at you at a slightly disorientating angle as upright beats and bass stay in a hurry and more synth drones get tossed into the mix at spontaneous intervals. A case of clubbers' delight has Heredia getting ready to 'Rumblar', putting up percussion that pops and great metallic synth builds and sirens on the breakdown, guaranteed to rock the middle of the club with the rub-a-dub.
