With music playing a fundamental role in Vitamindevo's formative years, time spent honing his skills as a drummer in his parent's basement have stood the US producer in good stead for a career that has launched him onto a global stage through live performances and production work. An established DJ with over fourteen years experience and regular bookings in his adopted San Francisco hometown, the New England born Vitamindevo has seen renowned abilities behind the decks keep audiences from New York City and Nevada to San Francisco and Los Angeles entranced in a carefully woven fabric of hypnotic beats and melodic flow.
Production work has seen a similar path to success for the Vitamindevo sound. A guiding set of principles to "create music to inspire movement" and the oft-neglected ability to "bring it into existence"; the circle is complete once Vitamindevo sees his music transport audiences into dance nirvana.
Collaborations with Stillwell, Truth Now and Bianca Dino have provided substance to this production voyage while work for Audiophile Deep, Audiophile XXL, Fierce Animals, Dichotic and System Recordings have been supplemented by the formation of Vitamindevo's own Laser Native imprint. The latter has has thus been a vehicle for both his own work and for others as it begins to emerge and spread its generous wings.
Now joining the roster with a brand new three-track EP, Particles is proud to announce the release of "Gold Dusted" representing a further stage in the evolution of the Vitamindevo sound. The title track itself, found here in twin forms, provides a delicious amalgamation of pitched riffs, vibrato leads and meandering pads nestling intelligently against a straight, hypnotic house beat in "Original Mix" and delicately swung, stripped back breakbeat in the case of the "Low Beat Edit". Subtle spot effects and 1950s sci-fi effects add to a work that is a study in unique and ingenious house music.
"Rip Tide", by contrast, is full of rich, deep bass groove that supplies the lower frequencies with enough bottom end to shake club floors to their very foundations as sub bass vies with ticking hats and cymbal to impressive effect. A freeform melody enters the fray in the third movement post-breakdown creating a vibrant work that is full of dynamic interplay as melody and rhythm hit joint heights.
A unique blend of genre-defying music has seen Vitamindevo produced a sprinkling of stardust as "Gold Dusted" takes centre stage.
