Terry Francis and his friends Klunk + Zilly return for their next release with Luke Soloman providing two stand out remixes.
Released at the back end of 2011 ‘Freak Me’ perfectly showcases the Klunk + Zilly sound and has become a staple in the sets of countless discerning DJs. Classic man and embracer of all things odd, Luke Soloman, turns in two sterling mixes on ‘Freak Me’ with the ‘Acid Tool Remix’ injecting some rolling acidic funk into proceedings whilst the ‘Acid Jazz Remix’ ebbs and flows over its 8 minute course adding interest around every corner.
Francis’ delivers two new tracks in the form of ‘Blob’ and ‘Deep Fried’, the former of which combines an incessant bass line whilst metallic percussion drives an altogether trippy and hypnotic drum track. ‘Deep Fried’ combines pitched-down vox and drawn out harmonies with hesitant percussion and spaced out synths in a way that Francis has made his own over the years.
An impressive and suitably left-of-centre release from two house/techno pioneers, KLUNK 005 is out May 7th.
