The start of Ennio Skoto's 'Fallen' EP take us to a scene where the sun is setting, a dystopic melody sinking like the rays of sun on a city landscape setting the somber mood. A brooding bassline foretells the coming night, envisioning decay a or a fall as the EP's central theme, the overall tone is one of isolation. The idea is reflected in the artwork: surrounded by darkness, a human body falls through space. Yet there is a release in the form: Ennio takes great care to paint these post- apocalyptic dancefloor grooves and sprinkle rhythmic incantations to express the pulse within. The minimalist theme holds true for the rest of the EP, where the songs envelop the listener in a simmer of low heat techno.
