DescriptionLondon based Rico Casazza is no stranger to Elemental, he has seen releases here since 2009 and now he is back with the album "Dub Chamber". Rico has been in and around the London techno and house scene since 2002 having played at many top clubs around the metropolis. He has also performed at many parties and festivals around Europe. This release is a ten track journey into the realms of fantastical chillout filled with organic sounds and raw feeling.
"Hidden Away" sets the mood with a beautiful atmospheric scene filled with wonderful FX, gritty textures and cool guitar sequences.
"Kyoto Is Not There" delves into a world of soft pianos with a distinctly Oriental flavour. Cool percussions create a rhythmic vibe, very nice.
"Early Reflections" gets going with a soft intro before bursting into an array of classic instruments and chunky breaks, excellent snare rolls are well placed alongside sweet melodies which keep the ear trained.
"Dawn" gives the impression of a new day, just as the name suggests. The sound paints a very vivid picture as the sequence plays out, very enthralling and a track you will listen to many times.
"04.00am" is a very melodic musical piece with a brilliant drum arrangement that gets the toes tapping. A myriad of melody rains down here and you get a sense of total relaxation from this laid back groove.
"Song 1" is a true downtempo groove, organic sounds add that raw feeling which is contrasted by lush vibes. Very powerful beats hypnotise as superbly crafted melodies take the edge off, great stuff!
"Suburban Residents" takes on a gritty edge with a drum section taken straight out of an urban street groove. Brilliant vocal manipulations sit well over strange FX work, very infectious.
"Gate Control" goes into a deeper groove with heavy sounds coming through on the filtered synths and guitars. Very engrossing sound with a raw edge.
"Voodoo Dub" is a track that impacts straight away, a super tight drum and percussion arrangement takes control from the off with a deep and commanding bassline coming up from the low end, multiple FX are a big part of this stunning groove.
Finally we have "Warrior Of Fire", another outing into the deeper edges of chill. Sinister sounding vocals create an intense feeling which is amplified with the breaks and pads, the bassline controls throughout.
