Marcelo, hailing from the hot & sultry beaches of Rio De Janeiro began his career as a DJ at the tender age of 11. Since this early age he showed he had a particular sound about him, following groovy basslines and gravitating to funk, breakbeats and scratching. Marcelo has played along the likes of Carl Cox, Christian Smith, Luke Slate, Marco Bailey, Anthony Rother, Laurent Garnier and Gui Boratto, among many others in his impressive career.
'Dramamine' captures perfectly the ever evolving sound of house music as the title says it all. Filled with witty drum treatments, groovey basslines, well placed vocals slices and of course and a sexy yet very dramatic refrain. This tune should do damage to any dancefoor, beach or pool party!
First up on the remix duties comes Label boss BiG AL who delivers the goods once again with his remix as he goes organic while keeping it rhythmic and warming up the bassline to a boil. More proof that our head honcho is inspired and on fire artistically - consider yourselves warned!
Next up is Seraphine who is no stranger to Ready Mix. Having remixed 'Together' by Mastercris & 'Underneath The Abyss' by MidiDropMusic, he adds his lovely trademark melodicism to his rework, replete with witty sound efx while expertly accentuating the main synth line.
Last but definitely not least, the collaboration between Ellroy & Steven Caicedo came to be after a chance phone call in late 2010 from Steven who is an accomplished DJ and music industry vet. He approached Ellroy on his Birthday to work on a remix for his favorite track to date on Ready Mix which is Yvel & Tristan Feat. Chirss Ronson's 'A Miracle Man' and the rest is history. They have been working together ever since! Their remix goes for the stripped down effect, yet adding a menacing feel while still maintaining the essence of the original. A Dub version is also included!
