The Danish duo Darkness Falls is a new alternative rock duo right from the centre of the emerging Copenhagen music scene, a collaboration between Josephine Philip (vocals, keyboards) and Ina Lindgreen (guitar, bass). Their sound is rooted in rock tradition, with elements of post punk, distant beats, and chanting, textured productions wrapped up with a great passion for classic 60s twang guitar sounds. A beautiful mixture of charming pop and melancholy, this is feel good music for 2011 and beyond. Produced by Trentemoller these 4 tracks are a spellbinding taste of things to come. The combination of Trentemollers glistening production and the unique, heartfelt music of Darkness Falls is sure to uplift and inspire.nnPrime Danish export Kasper Bjorke reanimates 'Hey' into a groovy post-disco swagger. A truly golden re-working, it just goes to show the potential of Darkness Falls as songwriters. Noise On The Line blends sweetly slow tones and laid-back filmic qualities with Josephines haunting vocals, while in comparison the B-movie inspired Hey! is a more lively affair. Centered on a foreboding lyric caught up amongst an awesome whirlwind of guitar and synths, with an almost epic arrangement despite the songs under 4 minute playtime.nnDubbed and ethereal, Strangers Coming is a fine example of the depth in sound and quality of songwriting and production Darkness Falls have to offer. The solemn modern ballad slowly builds and climbs to a spooky conclusion. Finally powerful echoes of Paradise Trilogy II swathe us in deep guitars and heavenly sung passages, conjuring images of mystical lands and forgotten times.nnThe debut EP Darkness Falls will be accompanied by a brilliant video for Hey!.
