Darkness and light are two of the most interesting contrasting forces on Earth. Contained within each are loads of symbolism and power. While light is most often associated with positive force, sometimes we need to look inward, to a deeper, darker place in order to draw creativity and inspiration. From this place comes "Dark Essence." This is a potent, dancefloor mixture of DJ 3000's signature percussive sound and a dark and enchanting combination of seductive melodies. This track draws on the luring power of the unknown forces just beyond your fingertips in the darkness. Bred from the depths of the darkness is another key aspect of our existence, the art of defiance. Our world would be a much different place if defiance was not a part of it. Where would we stand if there was never anyone to stand up and say "No! I will not." "Defiant 132" embodies a deep theme which runs the length of the Motech Records fabric. When we are told we can't, we do. When we are told to conform, we rebel. When we are told to stand down, we raise up and fight artistically for what is ours. As the track states, "You can't come here, and constantly take and borrow and take from us, and not expect us to want something back." These powerful words resonate the Detroit forged mantra of give and take. You can borrow as much influence as you like, but someday, most often when you won't expect it, we will be at your door, asking you to return the favor. And to show us what you have made with what has been given to you. What will you present when we arrive at your door? feedback:Claude Young: 10/10 for both tracks but my main track is Dark Essence!
