Falko Brocksieper caps off his busy 2008 with an EP of new material for TuningSpork Records. Earlier this year, Mr. Brocksieper released his sophomore album Heavy Day on his own label Sub Static, followed by an EP of non-album material this fall. Now, Falko brings two more brand new tracks to TuningSpork, reuniting with the label that released his Hardwired EP a couple years back. "Covert Action" is marked by a heavy emphasis on rhythmic interplay, with an ebb and flow of percussive swagger. Meanwhile, "On my Mind" is a funky trifecta of growling synths, a dubbed out vocal sample, and a whistled melody. These two cuts are a QED that Falko Brocksieper is a master at using analog gear to create cutting-edge tech-house.
