Label boss Innate, teams up with Ben Coda for the next release on Baroque, and it certainly does rock!
The original takes the best from both these guys. chunky beats, squelchy shakers and a stabby rolling hook line are all complimented by some funky drums and a churning bass. The synths tease as they open and close, surrounded by the delayed male vox snippets and sparkling alt melodies. The breakdown brings about some melodic changes and emotive effected vocals, alongside rising pads and swirling fx before it all goes banging around again.
Michael Cassette turns in the first remix here, a real anthemic journey this one, building from nothing but that bright melodic hook, then dropping to a simple topline and bang back in with the beats and a wurrling bass.. phazing stuttering pads drop into the breakdown alongside chiming melodies and bass risers, pop chords and live drums... some melodic movement after the breakdown adds the funk and warmth too.
Deas and Lubica round off the package with a real techy affair. pulsating bass and beat combo, tweaked drums, snare shouts and those dark male vox shots fall into a whirlwind of electronic melodies, before skippy bass and percs lead us back into the main groove. loads of clever programming make a real vibin mix
three tops tracks from some of the scenes finest..
