?Blood Rave? is a collaboration between Houston's Abraxa and Nnoa. Both are veterans of the Texas electronic circuit, having gone through plenty of pseudonyms and projects in the last decade. Abraxa, AKA PanchSM, is most notably 1/2 of Santa Muerte and a co-founder of the Majia label. The Santa Muerte project has had a successful string of releases and ended 2018 with a warmly recieved Kelela remix. Nnoa, the more uncharted of the two, last dropped the single ?Clord? in July 2018, with Majia. The two have come together before with ?Articulo,? which was released on a Non Worldwide Compilation. ?Blood Rave? sounds different than anything either of have made; a result only possible through a set of circumstances that have crafted their respective palettes, and ultimately placed them together in the same room. The track has all the ingredients of a club tool, but the two play heavily with the presentation of these. There are seemingly familiar percussive sounds, but each is finely tuned into distinctive oblivion. The formatting of the track is exceptionally off-kilter, and trails off in unpredictable directions - giving it a feeling of meticulous improvisation. ?Blood Rave" is open and sonically singular - making it an absolute treasure for any imaginative DJ, and a treat for anybody interested in the fringes of club music.
