Besides keeping up the wonderful collaboration with the enigmatic Marc Almond, the obvious trademark Punx style, featuring various new and interesting guest vocalists, including one track with Digitaria, Black & Gold is quite different from their first album When Machines Ruled The World.
Actually, John Taylor and Arif Salih defined the new style offered to us on Black & Gold as Party Techno. Incorporating all different styles of electro and techno with a party twist, the new album hits us as far more dance-oriented, exploring Nu Rave, Minimal and Groove elements, eventually bidding adieu to the electroclash sound of the past years.
Just to name a few, recent remixes by Punx Soundcheck include:
Bloc Party (Flux), Stakker Humanoid, S-Express (Stupid Little Girl / Kitsune), Ur Penetrators, Soft Cell, Dragons, Tronic Youth, Atomizer (Gigolo), Tigerbeat (Compost), Frau Doktor (Beautycase Records), W.I.T. (Mogul Electro), Dead Or Alive, Siobhan Fahey, Duran Duran and original tracks with Marc Almond, Steve Strange and Dirty Monroes.
