As 2010 draws to a close Shoguns Sgn:Ltd comes full circle and looks to finish the year with a re-work of the track that started the year, Bittersweet. Having made a heavy dent on dance floors across the scene last winter, Lenzmans now back to inject a fresh burst of energy into it, proving yet again hes up there with the best of them.

Bittersweet pt.2 is without doubt a subtle development on the original but a very welcome one. Gone are the old-skool breaks and in are some punchy two-stepping drums that cut through the mix beautifully, whilst possibly the biggest change is Riyas swooning vocal that appears more abundantly than before. Watch for the small bongo tinges and reversed piano riffs and its easy to see why Friction included this one on his Ministry Of Sound mix earlier in the year. Seductive D&B of the highgest order.

Moving on and were treated to the blissful tones of Take It Back which sees Lenzman doing just that, taking it back to some 70s soundtrack-inspired, jazz-soaked sounds complete with a creeping vibraphone and double-bass that moves things forward. Underpin it with deep sub, stepping percussion, some spoken word and were left with a classy slice of retro funk from Lenzman. A fine way to bow out of 2010.
