Release number 25 - Astral Travel. Back to homegrown talent, and another Liverpool native. Third Eye's productions are influences range from dub techno, minimal and deep house. The four-track EP is perfect for those early mornings & warm upsets. Hello summer (even if you are in lockdown).
Starting with, Gematria, which is deep, dubby & soulful. The kind of music you can kick back to or slowly get down to. Subtle and harmonious, melodies riff through the track as it grooves along. A perfect warm-up track, or early hours track for that matter. Delicious. A cuddle in a track.
Ky, again is deep, melodic and groovy, lending itself to the very prominent sound of Romanian infused minimal house - a sound that has greatly influenced Third Eye's productions. Beautifully arranged vocal samples run as multi-layered percussion knit this one together. One for the deepers.
The Triumphant Chariot Of Antimony returns to dark, dubby and the slightly twisted sounds OSCILLATE is familiar with. This one is hypnotic, percussive and deep. One to get lost in. Heavy basslines roll throughout, whilst the subtle obscurities of the percussion and mid-range flutter along. A fine track.
The final track of the EP, The Yod, is a broken cut that runs deep. Superb sounds in this one. Melodic, emotive music that fills all corners of a room with a clear Middle Eastern influence. This one will sound huge wherever you play it. Brilliant stuff from the debutant, Third Eye.
