Brazilian label Not For Us has enjoyed a more than stellar 2013. Their latest party-trick arrives courtesy of label bosses Rods Novaes and Wender A, who serve up a sumptuous slice of house music courtesy of the quite exceptional AC DI CI EP.

It's the title-track that gets us going, letting the listener know it means business from the off thanks to its assured drumwork and a smidgen of acid that lends it a menacing vibe. Gradually, the intensity increases, resulting in a real groover of a track that's sure to get the party started. And who better to compliment the latter than Tripmastaz? Undoubtedly one of the past twelve month's biggest stars, the Russians reputation continues to grow at an astounding rate thanks to his full-on, meticulous approach. He gives the original a whole new lick of paint, with spiky, oddball synths dominating matters alongside a mystifying tech-house backdrop. Expert stuff.

The second of the originals is ''Snow Cat'', a chugging monster of a track that's made up of ferocious percussion and a semblance of enticing clicks and sporadic vocal charges. It's the sort of DJ tool that's ripe for a remix, with Christian Guerra & Audioluke the first to tackle it. The Italian duo inject a new sense of personality in to the track, as they let a mound of simmering snares and a series of luscious pads bring us on a journey that's brimming with energy from the first to the last beat. Culminating the package is Luca Albano, who turns in a stripped-back version of ''Snow Cat'' that's high on intensity and mysterious vibes. An eclectic package of many different sounds, Not For Us' latest is further proof of their burgeoning standing in electronic music.
