Musica da Terra, the groups debut album, is a genre bending album that features the likes of Nandi Ndlovu (from South Africa), Grupo Zore and Grupo Makarita (Mozambique); Giovanni Kiyingi, Annet Nandujja and Nilotica (Uganda), Lebon (Democratic Republic of Congo), Winnie Lado (Sudan).
The trio tantalised fans with the release of 3 singles accompanied by music videos earlier this year ahead of the release of Musica da Terra in May. The first single Daniel featured long-time collaborator and South African songstress Nandi Ndlovu. This single comes accompanied by an exquisite music video, directed by acclaimed director Kent Andreasen and shot on location in Impaputo, Mozambique. The second single, Call me Naughty - with Manteiga who raps and sings in Portuguese on the lead vocals - showcases the groups playful side and the third, Gira, is a hard hitting protest song, calling for change from the war and violence in Africa.
Now the band announce an expanded deluxe edition of the album featuring 8 remixes and 1 new track. To coincide with this announcement of an autumn/winter European tour, including their UK debut at London's Jazz Cafe.
