Cologne based label Klangkultur Schallplatten return with another sterling single, this time from the musical duo of Dj Lora & Vanilla Ace, who offer up two original cuts of bass driven House backed with a remix from Niko Schwind. Vanilla Ace has been creating waves in house music circles since bursting onto the scene a mere three years ago. Releases on labels such as OFF Recordings, Toolroom and Nurvous have showcased his ghetto house meets bass style, gaining him support from DJ heavyweights such as Seth Troxler and Soul Clap and leading to a string of award nominations. Now the London based DJproducer teams up with DJ Lora, a production talent that has graced the likes of Strictly Rhythm and Toolroom whilst building an enviable reputation as one of the capital's hardest working Djs. The release opens with Dimension', a robust slice of jackin house underpinned by a bobbling filtered bassline that carries the whole thing forward with true energy. Soulful vocals, subtle vocal effects, stabs and strings all add to the rolling dancefloor vibe. The Niko Schwind remix reigns back the ghetto house feel, journeying into deeper territory whilst still maintaining the essence of the original. The final offering, Reverie' leads with skittering percussion and a heavy warping bassline before warm synths dip in and out surrounding the distant vocal chants, a perfect closer for this solid package.
