'Ventura' is a second proper release from Warsaw producer Lukasz Lazarczyk, aka DJ Stoner Dad, after his debut 'Raw Romantics' on Transatlantyk (plus an appearance on Natural Sciences compilation). Lukasz has been producing musing for years, and is also known for his live performances, showcasing his love for synths and bold use of hardware. 'Ventura' is an adventurous release, packing seven tracks into less than 30 minutes, balancing warm melodic ambience (like the opener 'Tape', co-produced with Polish ambient music master Tomasz Bednarczyk/New Rome) with club-friendly, nonetheless equally complex tunes somewhere between high-end techno and lo-fi house. 'Let's Take A Brake' and 'Urania' are proper peak-time movers, and 'Midi4' certainly has its hands-in-the-air factor. The title track brings some Motor City nostalgia drenched in tape hiss, while bluesy field recording of 'Devil' and cascading loops of 'Studio City' are welcome interludes between straight dancefloor tracks. 'Ventura' was mastered by Bartek Prosul (known from his IwasHomeAnyway record on FASRAT) and features artwork by respected painter and artist Stachu Szumski.
