For the next release, Eklo are proud to welcome back London resident Boris Horel. Rhythm Tramp is a quirky journey filled with percussive force and cosmic influences, featuring a deep and dubby dance floor remix, plus digital bonus track, Wild Combination.
Delicately intricate yet undeniably powerful, Rhythm Tramp kicks off with stripped back, fuzzy and erratic percussions, soon developing with a pumping bass and a grumbling sub bass that pulsates with the groove, while spacey synths dramatically soar and rise. The broken beats, funky groove and intergalactic bleeps make this a true cosmic journey and the David Bowie vocal sample adds a final touch, confirming this as a real Space Oddity.
Over on the B-side, the Cabanne Remix provides a deep and driving, dance floor weapon. Full of depth and warmth, echoes of a vocal snippet ride throughout the track, falling through the layers of heavy duty and tin like percussions. The track progresses into a smoother, fluid rhythm contrasting with the tougher beats in the first half.
Bonus track Wild Combination is a magnetic dance floor weapon bursting with energy and movement. Vibrating percussion soon progresses to heart-warming, emotive keys that float to the dreamy melody, while glitched workouts are imbued with authentic depth to creative the perfect late night track.
Originally from France but residing in London for over ten years, Boris Horel is a precious member at the heart of the underground scene. Previous residencies include Momos famous Kemia club, Sketch and T bar. Rhythm Tramp is Horels fourth release on the Eklo imprint and with the success of the previous three, its no surprise that Seuil invited him back on board. Having also released on labels such as Chris Carriers Adult Only and Audioflys Supernature, it seems that Boris Horel is one to keep a close eye on.
