He's back with his next EP for us on Drugsex 'Paul Donton' delivers an outstanding follow up to his previous 'Life Form EP'.
From his Doncaster base and working closely with his beautiful assistant 'Molly' AKA his Mac Pro, Paul has steadily built up a powerhouse production line for Tech House and Techno releases. He owns and runs Bombis Records and also has another label called Konform whom he teams up with Daniel Mancini as The Maersk Project. All of that and regular collaborations with our label head Rob Pearson make Paul a very busy lad.
'Lemons' starts off the proceedings with a 'POW'. Paul is taking no prisoners here with a lively deep underground workout. Cheeky dark pitched vocal phrasing's are chopped, processed and delivered to perfection and narrate the subsonic workout which showcases Mr Donton's slick production style to a tee! Peak time or late, late business, you can be sure that this one holds it down on the floor.
'Brown Bottle' I advise you to take a hit on this cut right here. Further underground shenanigans are afoot once more. Paul has developed his stripped down straight to the point no nonsense Tech House production style which shows in abundance on this track. Tripped out effects drift effortlessly over Donton's tougher than leather beats and bass to bring us another winning combination.
'Remixes' Our Label Head 'Rob Pearson' loved both of Paul's originals for this release so he just had to get his hands on the parts to touch on his own remix for both featured tracks. As to be expected Rob nails down the Drugsex sound once more, and in fact he outlines with his remixes exactly what the label is all about style wise.
