Toronto-based DJ and producer Varouj Arman, aka Arman, has really began to come in to his own over the last couple of years. It wasn't too long ago that Arman was just making a name for himself as a DJ, but in just a few short years he's managed to secure slots during just about any given hour at any given club around the Toronto area. The classically trained violinist parlayed his love for DJing and fine-tuned hearing in to a production role that has since seen the young artist develop a unique sound that is all his own early on in his career.
'Dreambox' is the perfect embodiment of that sound. Arman utilizes a characteristically dreamy melody to woo the listener in while a sultry selection of shakers and hollowed out synths set the tone. Joined soon after by a sharp, hovering back melody, Arman goes to work playfully weaving the two chord structures in and out of one another while quietly disassembling the background. The resulting array is enchanting and smooth for the entirety of the near six minute long production, displaying Arman's innate tact for crafting melodies and the attention to detail required in such a nuanced piece.
