Jo Choneca

Jo Choneca, originally from Mozambique, boasts a diverse musical style that embraces a wide range of influences including African, funky, and Brazilian sounds. Recently, he has embarked on a new afro-house project, blending his African roots with traditional instruments and combining them with electronic and contemporary elements. This innovative approach has sparked significant interest within the afrohouse music community. Currently, he is collaborating with various record labels such as Villahangar Records, which produced "Wanguissa" in collaboration with Chris Leo, Merecumbe Recording (Chicago), which produced "Hozza" in collaboration with Leo Guardo and Doug Gomez, Nulu Music (New York City), which produced "Nyararai" in collaboration with DJ Wnoise, and Bayaka Records, which produced "Sembe" in collaboration with the producer Lil Owl.
