Thankyou City, “To be grateful for whatever your reason, purpose, ideals or experiences happen to be.” This is what Thankyou City means to the two brothers, from Melbourne, Australia. They have shaped an impressive trademark sound over time which has allowed them to shine on the international dance circuit alongside many of their favourite producers. Experiences they are enthusiastically grateful for.The TYC sound has often been described as unique, minimal in all the right places and maximal in all others.A mood comprised of honest, emotive undertones while constantly introducing a healthy amount of wonk. The boys first American and European tour saw them playing at festivals like the beautiful Symbiosis gathering in Nevada (USA), Elektronisk Karneval in Copenhagen (Denmark), Glade Festival (UK), Ritter Butzke and Golden Gate in Berlin (Germany) and finally their hometown imprint Chameleon recording's label night in Amsterdam (Holland). After a successful and incredibly fun time abroad the boys returned home and locked themselves in the studio to create more nose scrunching vibes and the results paid off, in 2013 at the Australian Independent Music Awards (AIMA) when they received the “Peoples Choice” award for Producers of the Year. With a string of bookings, collaborations and new projects on the horizon, Thankyou City seem like they are far from slowing down. And if where they have been is just a taste of where these lads are heading, we really hope slowing down is something they don't think of doing any time soon.
