This is the story of a meeting. That of Yannick and Jean- Baptiste, two French guys passionate about electronic music; they’ve been into this music for about two decades. Both of them have a love for bewitching melodies and worship ultra-synthetic loops, groovy beats and adore melancholic as well as dark atmospheres.Since 2001, they’ve been virtually hanging out together (they met on a music-dedicated forum on the Internet); they finally met in the real life in 2003. At that time, they were bothering their computers to design music, and finally decided to join forces in order to materialize their musical desires.Their strength relies on their “synergy”. When one of them generally prefers working on the rhythmic part and on the structuration of a track, the other one focuses more on melodies and basslines. Track after track, they learnt how to forge their style, starting with downtempo pieces, then had an electro-tech period, to now reach the banks of a more minimalist but melodic genre. SQware also ventured into other styles such as breakbeat or techno-pop. Their works result from their wide range of tastes, which of course includes the whole electronic spectrum but also other musical families such as jazz, hip-hop, or movie soundtracks.
