Mike started making noise back when Mod Plug tracker was a thing and over the years has played various instruments from drums to electric guitar and progressed through various production technologies and techniques as they developed.Moving from an all-digital soft synth setup to a more rounded and diverse analogue studio with valve powered drum machines and synths from Alesis, Korg, Roland and Moog based in his house in Dundee, Scotland. He now produces tech house and gritty remixes as well as bouncy vocal pop tracks while being slightly obsessed with the gritty analogue sound and fat, smelly basslines. In 2009, Mike started a trance event called ‘The Release’ which ran for 3 years in various nightclubs across Tayside attracting local talent and a reputation for great sound systems. This ended in 2011 when he left to be a sound engineer which was more a passion than any sort ofserious attempt at a career.Starting in 2012 Mike performed Ableton live sets - synthesizers, drum machines and all - with Andy Low for some of the most respected techno nights in Scotland (including one in an old Scottish Castle) and now likes to spend time on the other side of the DJ booth, soaking up the music and the atmosphere that it brings.Having gone through various phases of preferred tastes over the years from wonky electro to minimal, current influences include Daniel Portman, Tony Romera, Pan Pot, Project 7 and Dada Life, preferring simplicity, groove and minimalism over uplift and over production.By day he’s a director of a 20+ staff mobile software firm he founded 10 years ago called Waracle which is based in the creative centre of Dundee, Scotland producing mobile and web apps for household brands and government agencies.
