Not many producers of the electronic dance music-scene have been blessed with a strict, classical education. Even less can say about themselves that they had produced tracks that were played by the scene’s big names, even before coming of age.
When 17-year-old Joscha Berg was sending his demo to Sascha Braemer, he could already look back on hours of classical composition, harmonical- and music theory but not predict that his music will soon be played by the likes of Oliver Schories, Shir Khan, AKA AKA and of course Braemer himself in Europe’s Clubs, to name a few.
Joscha Berg is 15 years old when he decides to dedicate his live to music. He starts studying classical music theory, analising the greatest pieces from Bach to Rachmaninoff and spends hours at the piano. One year later he makes his first determined steps in the field of electronic music. At the same time he starts to play in clubs, which he wasn’t even allowed to enter at that time.
In 2013 it is determined, that Berg is going study at the University of Music in Karlsruhe, but also that his Debut EP „Soul Motion“ is going to be released at Sascha Braemer’s label „Whatiplay“. The release directly climbs in the Beatport Charts, receives full support by the already mentioned and more well-known DJs like Kurse & Nuernberg, Animal Trainer, Eelke Kleijn, Ante Perry, Dirty Doering, Acid Pauli and many more. Joscha Berg’s productions are characterised by enormous emotions, passion for harmony and melodical elements and a very warm and soulful sound. At every time they are reflecting the musician, who is paying lots of attention to the structural and harmonical relations of music. As an electronically and classically educated producer and musician Joscha Berg is definitely someone to watch in the future. That’s why Oliver Schories already declared him to be the next „Wunderkind“.
