The project JeKO was born in the spring of 2006 out of a collaboration between Simone Frendo and Sergio Liguori, two Italian musicians and producers who individually have worked with several bands of international renown. Their music is a compound of funk and punk distinctly executed with electronic sounds and dance beats. A small club in Naples provided the birthplace for their first live set and thanks to the overwhelmingly positive reaction of the crowd, JeKO has decided to continue to play not only nice but also larger venues in town. In October 2006 they were invited to play the popular Brighton haunt: Zap Club, continuing to play internationally both in Italy and England. In Febr 2008 they were invited to play the awesome party called l-ektrica in Rome, Italy. More and more people on both the Naples and London underground dance scene are being won over by the JeKO experience. Their fan base is home based at the ragtag parties who rock the town of Naples every friday night, where Sergio and Simone perform theyr live acts and dj sets on regular basis. They also have been invited to play the cool underground parties in London called Deranged and Demented and Miander.

It’s not possible to mention just a few genres when trying summerize their (Jeko’s) influences, maybe even cinema, art and fashion should be thrown into the equativo. Sergio and Simone have gone through many different music genres through their careers but what they love the most is funk, they really really love George Clinton, Bootsy Collins, Michael Jackson, Zak & Roger and many others. On the other hand they cannot stop listening 80’s new wave and 90’s Disco House and they will jump all over the place if you play them an Hip Hop track!
“…We considers ourselves eclectic producers, we just cannot focus on just one music genre when we compose our own tracks or produce other people’s work, we find it so easy to add (mix) different flavours in our work, and we love doing that, it’s so much fun!!!”
