D-Empress was introduced to music at very early age by her father who is a Muscianist.At the age of five was the first time she ever picked up any instrument and that is when he taught her the the basics of all latin percussion such ass Congos, Bongos, Guiro etc.and she took the initiative to teach herself the rest. Her father was very strict with his instruments and she wasn’t allowed to play the instruments when her father wasn’t around but that didn’t stop her she grabbed her mother’s pots and pans and created her own beats .D-Empress played along side with her father in a band that he always performed with at different venues. She was even offered to play with other famous bands such as Las Chicas Del Can, Oro Solido, Cana Brava and played with Victor Manuel in Puerto Rico.D-Empress was allowed to play with the bands as long as it was locally the band Las Chicas Del Can really wanted to make D-Empress officially apart of their band which required traveling the world and had to turn down the offer because her father wanted her to enjoy being a kid and education was importantD-Empress was introduced to the underground rave scene in 1994 and that‛s when she discovered the sound of Chicago house music. During this period is when she realized the love and appreciation she has for house music. At the age ofsixteen she owned her first set of Technics 1200‛s. Although, D-Empress spun at underground rave parties and house parties, she really did it for the fun of it and later grew such a passion for it, she taught herself not only to spin vinyl but also CD‛s. D-Empress was invited by Global Mix Radio from NYC to represent in the WMC 2012 in Miami FL, She has played several venues like Providence NYC, Bar 13 and Destino Lounge just to name a few. D-Empress is currently working with Ablton Live 9 looking to bring out her creativity through her own sounds and being a percussionist really benifits because I can bring in my own originals sounds and samples to my original tracks . D-Empress released her first single on Nervous Records.
