Deep, dubby and full of percussion... Chris:Q has quickly become a name you need t o know about .The story behind Chris only dates back to early 2009, when as young Makam lad burst onto the Sunderland scene with sets for local club B.R.A, as well as his own events; Edit: and under100. Here Chris played alongside the likes of Inxec, Rebekah and Richy Ahmed... and impressed every step of the way.A season in Ibiza the same year saw him spread his message further with attention-grabbing sets at small parties across the island, leading to regular warm up slots for Ricardo Villalobos, Luciano, Loco Dice, Cassy and more upon his return at Birmingham’s Eclectricity. What followed were bookings across the country for some of the most exciting names in the scene, from label showcases such as M_nus and Cocoon to smaller parties Sonido, Leicester and Ape-x, Newcastle. Feb 2011 arrived and ushered in the birth of Chris’ own brand Sample, alongside friends As We Are. Invitations for Martinez Bros, Okain, Jordan Peak, Droog and Art Department soon followed, raising the profile of his events and his role as an exceptional resident. The int roduct ion of product ion t o his repert oire, welcomed in a new dawn for, where people could experience the real Chris:Q. A deep affair, that lends itself excellently to big breakdowns, heaps of percussion and a nod to the acid times of yesteryear. EPs for Kaluki Musik and Made Fresh Daily - due for release this year - now sit pretty next to the available ‘Fat Lip’ on Love Not Money’s ‘New Love Volume2’.A 2012 summer back in Ibiza, and another season of head-turning sets. From Marco Corola’s Music:On boat part ies and Plan Be t o Depart ure and his own Sample vs Mute parties...It’s not difficult to understand why so many people are talking about Chris:Q.
